A stupid treatable disease caused the breakup of my marriage. I am so bitter now...

A male United States age , anonymous writes:

I caught a disease, UTI to be exact that caused a deterioration of my marriage with my wife. The symptoms I had were constant fatigue, headaches, and fevers every other night. My wife who happens to work in the medical field as an EMT ignored my symptoms. She called me lazy and didn’t believe me when I said I was sick. I slacked off in my chores around the house, our sex life suffered. She eventually cheated on me and now we are seperated.

I wasn’t diagnosed with UTI until months after she and I seperated. My regular doctor never found the cause of my symptoms, and it was a second doctor who found out what I had. I was treated, and now I am completely cured. But my marriage is over. I have tried to explain to my wife what had happened to me but she won’t listen to reason.

Of all the things to destroy a marriage... a simple treatable disease... I am so bitter right now, and I feel torn up. How can I ever convince her that she was wrong? How can I move on from this?

pgissyd agony auntsweetheart, she treated you bad and had an affair to boot, what are you going to gain by proving to her she was wrong?

have you explained it all in a non accusatory way? have you shown her what a kind considerate caring guy you are now? do you want her back?

have you told her that?

Im not entirely clear on the question Im afraid, do you want her back or do you want to move on?
