 Depends on the movie I suppose but most likely he at least cares that you watch the same movie he likes. How much he likes you that is for you to find out but he certainly sees you as a friend and maybe more.
And it is out of "When Harry met Sally", at least that movie has them calling each other when they watch the same movie.

 If I understand correctly when you say watch a film at the same time, you mean in different places. When I was your age I used to sit on the phone with this boy and we would watch the same movie, we would only talk when something exciting happened or when there was a commercial. We liked each other. So I would say yes this boy likes you. From my experience this is what watching a film at the same time means. Hope this helps.
