XxXLoveAngelXxX agony auntTheres nothing you can do to stop his feelings for you. But you can tell him straight that you don't feel that way about him anymore and that you still want to be friends.

Hiya. Nope, you can't stop his feelings - we cannot stop how other people feel, we all have responsibility for our own feelings and he must take responsibility for his and how he is acting on them. If he falls in love with you then that's his stuff but hopefully you aren't encouraging him.

You sound really clear that the relationship won't work. All you can do here is lay down some boundaries and explain that friendship is all that's on offer now. If he won't take this for an answer and wants more - then you may have to accept that he cannot be part of your life. Don't get sucked back in - after all, he isn't an ex for no reason!
