I've really liked him since the day I met him. I've always felt really shy and awkward around him but I'm really comfortable with other guys. We've known each other for 2 years. We've met up by ourselves on at least 2 occasions and we normally have deep meaningful conversations. He's going to a different uni to me but he said before that he thinks romantic relationships have the potential to last forever. we ended our last conversation by saying that we'll be friends forever. After he wrote that in my yearbook I told him I admired him in the same way, but awkwardly said I couldn't express it as well as him (He's amazing at English). Then he said "you know I only mean this as friends."

Is there any chance he "likes" me in that way? Can a friendship be this intense and be successful? I can't stop thinking about him. He's the kind of guy I'd want to spend the rest of my life with.

Boombadaboom agony auntKeep being friends and just hold on for the right moment to tell him those things. If he's as smart as you make him to be then it'll be alright once you tell him. It's definitely understandable so you've got nothing to be apologising for. Ye there is a chance and yes a friendship can be like that. Keep meeting up!
