A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

When has it been too long after "I love you" should have been said? I have been with my boyfriend for 9 months and we have not said it yet. I'm starting to feel it and I think he does too. I have never said it to anyone before. Anyone, I dated that this. I'd really like for him to say it first. Is that asking too much?

A male reader, Your friend Australia +, writes (30 June 2009):

Your friend agony auntI wouldn't push it until it felt right. If he can't say it yet forcing him to in an indirect way could panic him. You say it as often as you like he will get used to the words and probably find it more easy to say when he is ready.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (30 June 2009):

Well if you love him, why don't you just tell him? I'm sure he's probs worried and maybe he doesn't want to scare you by showing his feelings. If he's freaked out by it, then you shouldn't be with him.

If you decide to wait, it could be along time and you might end up annoyed. Why not sit down one day and playfully ask do you love me? That'll give you your answer.

hope this helped
