In Tennessee There is one loop whole in the age of consent rule. If said partner is within 4 years of your age it is legal, whether they are 18 or not. Within that age range the older person cannot be convicted of statutory if he is within 4 years, unless the younger party did not give consent then the older person can be arrested or if the person is more than 4 years older. So Tennessee really doesn't have a set age of consent.

Keep in mind the age of consent to sex varies per state, it's 16-18 depending upon what state you're in.
Age of Consent 16: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia
Age of Consent 17: Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, Texas
Age of Consent 18: Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, North Dakota, Oregon, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.
Like the other 2 aunts have said you can date, but you would have to be a celibate couple until you are of legal age. I don't know any 18 year old boy that would agree to abstain from sex( this includes oral sex, any kind of sexual acts) for that long. Wait till you're legal.
Your parents may so it's ok, but the law says otherwise.

I agree with dmartin89. You can "date" but the minute that sex comes into it you are looking at statitory rape, being arrested, being labeled a sex offender etc... NOT worth it!

You can date whoever you want, thats not what the law is interested in.
However if you were having sex, that would be against the law and you could be arrested and put on the sex offenders register for life. Say goodbye to any kind of career or happy and fulfilling life!
