Especially since most girls around 18 have had boyfriends, kisses and even sex, so they have experience.A little strange and abnormal or what? Should the girl just lose it and get it over with?

Apart from a couple more drunken snogs over the years, my first proper 'I can actually remember this in the morning' kiss was a couple of months after I started university, just before I turned 19. It was with my first boyfriend, who is also the first person I've slept with. I have friends here who have still never been in a relationship or been kissed - it does depend on who you hang out with, but if you're in the right friendship groups you'll find this wort of thing isn't that uncommon at all :) x

Just wasn't ready for the whole relationship biz I'm afraid.
Nothing wrong with being a late bloomer, don't worry bout it, you'll have plenty of guys before your done.

reader, anonymous, writes (22 February 2012): I don't think that's strange but I know I felt the same when I was eighteen so I get where you are coming from. I was twenty before I met my current boyfriend. He gave me my first kiss and was also the first person I'd had sex with. I'm twenty-four now and were still together. I have a feeling the situation that you're in is not as unusual as you think. Don't rush into anything with a complete stranger though - I'm not saying you should wait for a 'soulmate' to come along or anything but it should at least be with someone you genuinely like and who genuinely likes you back.
