 To each their own. By societal standards, I'm probably a slut of a man considering the numbers, but as "bleedingheart" noted, there is often a double standard. I'm much older - my youth was the 1960s and 70s. Whatever, but some potential husband in the future may judge you for your fairly active youth. Times have changed, however, and I think that most today would be hypocrites to judge others.

 I believe that the right person to answer that question is yourself. Do you think that's a lot? Some people are happy to have been with one person only, while others are happy because they have been with many (though I imagine that some of those bedfellows were not people to be happy about).
If you think you have to "slow down", do. I won't tell you what to do.

reader, anonymous, writes (14 April 2009): I have only been with like 8 guys in 30 years, but that is because my relationships were all serious long term deals aside from the odd person who was a close friend that should never have really happened but did type deal.
Some would say 8 is too many, some say too few, some people sleep with half the country by my age, some sleep with no one - whichever it is, it is never too many or two few, it is just circumstance.
Things happen, sometimes we get close to people and move on - you shouldnt feel bad for sleeping with anyone - we live in a world ruled by human rules and regulations and human standards made up by people with no face, when in truth, as long as you have no regrets and feel good about yourself and are careful, it really doesn matter how many people you sleep with - sometimes you just HAVE to kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince.

reader, anonymous, writes (14 April 2009): The anonymous poster below seems to think it makes a difference if you are female! Haha. Even if men get to sleep around more than women do, who are they sleeping with? Anyone who has that double-standard isn't really thinking things through, are they?
Just have to point that out. It doesn't matter, sweetie, no. If you are uncomfortable with it, then that's what counts.
We are not kiddies here, no-one is keeping score. Or at least I don't think they should be.
What, is that an average of 2 guys a year? That seems pretty tame to me, to be quite honest.

Believe me hun, I wish I had only been with 17 guys. As long as you are careful and use protection it makes no difference how many you sleep with. Blokes can do it with 100 women and are classed as studs, that being the case why can't we???
