I have had a relationship with my partner for ten years and in that time we have had ups and downs, i don't want to be with him anymore, he will not marry me, he tells everyone that it embarrasses me, i've moved away from him hoping that will stop it but he think's i've got hormone trouble and i will get over it but since leaving him ive found this beautiful man i didn't think existed and I keep trying to tell m/j but i start getting upset thinking im really going to hurt him but i shouldn't have sorts of feelings. I just want to move on but don't know how, please help me.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (22 August 2010):

Hi, I think you did the right thing because that hormone comment shows me that he does not respect you as a person and that is a terrible place to be. Allow yourself to be happy with this new man or alone if you wish and don't let your ex put guilt on you. You have to do what's right for your emotional health. Good luck to you.

If he doesnt want to get married and you are fighting then why would you worry about his feelings? You said that you have found this beautiful man and you like him.
