A female United Kingdom age 26-29, anonymous writes:

Soo this sounds insane, but I basically broke up with my boyfriend a couple of days ago.

I'm not looking for another relationship for ages, I'm not over him or anything.

But a kind of guy today who I've met a few times invited me out for a coffee, it really cheered me up as i'm trying to do things to get my mind off the break up.

I'm happy to go for a friendly coffee with him, but what does it mean when they invite you out for a coffee?

Does it mean he likes me or whatever? I'm kind of confused, its not long after I broke up with my boyfriend, and it was really out of the blue.

So yeah what does it mean?

Oh okay, I did talk to a friend about this and he said that partarcally with teenage boys asking a girl out for coffee is kinda like asking them on a date in a more shy and subtle way.

I talked to his friend about it, and he said that he wanted to go for a coffee to let me know he wanted to cheer me up and wanted to let me know he was there for me.

I found this very sweet and am happy to go for a coffee with him and just get to know him.

I've met him twice before, and he was a lovely guy and we even had a heart to heart.

I am only interested in being friends though, and he is only one year older than me. But thankyou.
