Is my brother's friend interested in me?

Question - (13 October 2011) 1 Answers - (Newest, 14 October 2011)
A female Canada age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I have been very curious if my brothers friend who is 23 is interested in me (I am 18). I will start off by saying I have a boyfriend but for some reason me and this guy have been texting a lot. He just texts me about anything, and I've known him for several years because of my brothers. He started saying somewhat flirtatious things, and puts a lot of ;)'s. I have to say I am guilty for being a little too flirty. He has told me I would look good/hot in anything and other naughty and dirty things. One time we were alone at his house, of course I did not do anything but he went into the other room to change and joked did I want to take a peek. For Thanksgiving we had a family dinner, a few friends of mine came, my boyfriend and of course my brothers friend. I found it abit awkward, and throughout the night we kept catching each other looking. He seemed to be looking at my bf as well. I don't know if he is interested in me? Or what. I know I shouldn't care because I have a bf. I wouldn't do anything

A female reader, k_c100 United Kingdom +, writes (14 October 2011):

k_c100 agony auntIt does sound like he is interested yes. So if you love your boyfriend and want to make sure this relationship works, you need to back off from this friend of yours. Too much texting with a single member of the opposite sex is always suspicious, I bet your boyfriend will have already noticed if not he will soon.

So back off as much as you can - dont reply to his texts, dont flirt, if you do reply then definitely no smiley faces or naughty comments - keep it all above board and platonic.

I hope this helps and good luck!
