A female , anonymous writes:

I asked my husband the other day that if a woman he knew winked at him what would he think and he said 'I would think she wants to know me more, she fancies me'. I asked him what he thought if a bloke winked at me and he said 'I would worry'. He said that if a male friend winked at me and smiled he wouldn't see it as just being a friend he would see it as they wanted something more.

He's normally pretty good on body language and I hope he is wrong as on a few occasions a friend of his has winked and smiled at me and I am not sure whether I should tell him as I don't want to destroy their friendship. Has he got this sort of body language wrong and the bloke is just being friendly.

candy00s agony auntI think he was just being friendly - you dont have anything to worry about unless he tries it on with you or starts flirting with you.

kenny agony auntI woulden't say anything as you could be reading the signs wrong.

When i am talking to people whether it be male or femail i sometimes wink when finishing a conversation, or saying goodby, its an expression alot of people use and don't even realise they are doing it half the time.

I would hate to think that everyone i subconsciously winked at thought i fancied them. I woulden't worry about it, unless he makes an inappropriate advance torwards you.

Good luck x
