I recently just tried to have sex for the first time ever with my girlfriend. Everything started out great, it was dark, we were kissing, we took off our clothes, and right before game time...I lost my bat! The whole time I was just asking "Why god...why...?"

She was understanding about it and said it wasn't a big deal, but it really is for me. I'm 22 years old, I wanna figure why this happened and how I can make sure it doesnt happen again. A couple of hours before I had masterbated and was wondering if that could have affected my erection later that night? Or could it have been that I was THAT nervous? I mean my soldier was saluting during the foreplay, it was just man down afterwards...

Can Anyone help me or offer some insight please. Thanks in advance.

ChiRaven agony auntReactions can be a funny thing, and you never can tell how they are going to work out.

The first time I was with a woman after my wife died was someone who had been a close friend of hers since grammar school. We were watching a tremendous thunderstorm through her skylight, and I found that I couldn't do anything. I did the only thing I could think of ... I asked her for a Rain Check! We were both laughing so hard we could hardly stand it. Got up, put on underpants, went to the kitchen for drinks, came back to bed, napped for a while, and then later we woke up and ... lo and behold, I nailed her to the bed a couple of times. No rhyme or reason to it, it just happened.

These things happen. But if you're expecting to need to perform for your woman, don't go solo beforehand. A guy, even at your age, has only got so many bullets in his six-shooter.

Dagwood agony auntHi Rey, Don't worry buddy, this happens. It seems Soulsista knows guys quite well and has given you good advice. When we guys think about it too much and worry about our performance we actually freak ourselves out a bit and the nerves make you loose your erection. Have a glass of wine before next time and just go with the flow. Usually I find when it starts out (first time) a little nervy & uncomfortable with a new lady it becomes very good later so I'm sure you'll be fine within a few more sessions. Just enjoy. Take care.

xxxsoulsistaxxx agony auntThis happens so often, I really don't know why men start panicking so much! People are always on here asking why they were a 'man down'! It could be for so many reasons but there's nothing wrong with you, as you had one earlier. Maybe it was nerves or because you had already come beforehand.

My boyfriend says the more he worries about losing his erection, the worse it gets and he does end up losing it. So it's all in the mind really. Just stay positive and try not to think about it or get yourself in a pickle and you should be fine. Also, I think feeling at home and comfortable with the girl will help too, so maybe get to know her a bit better.

Good luck and stop worrying, relax and you'll be fine next time.
