How do I ask her out without sounding creepy?

A male United Kingdom age 26-29, anonymous writes:

There's this girl who I've been friends with for a good couple of years and over time we've been seeing each other more and more. It wasn't until a couple of months ago I started to develop feelings for her. We met up yesterday at a friend's house, we ended up playing truth or dare just as a bit of fun and it all ended with me and her kissing, of course this was amazing for me and now I can't stop thinking about it and I get butterflies in my stomach just when I think about her.

I decided to grow a pair and considered asking her out... Only problem being - when should I do it? How do I say it without sounding creepy? etc. I'm only 16, but I've never actually had a girlfriend before, so I'm extremely worried about coming across as creepy, awkward or even desperate.

A male reader, CMMP United States +, writes (15 April 2013):

If you had really grown a pair you wouldn't be afraid of sounding awkward, creepy or desperate.

Are you awkward, creepy or desperate? Then why would you come off that way?

Asking a girl out that has given you signs that she likes you is the easiest thing in the world. Convince yourself she's going to say yes (duh, she did kiss you), think of what you want to ask her to do (go to a movie, whatever), then DO IT.

If she thought you were creepy she wouldn't have kissed you. Being desperate has nothing to do with asking girls out; if only desperate people did that where would the human race be? And if you were awkward you wouldn't have had any contact with her on the first place, and she certainly wouldn't have kissed you.

What's all that mean? Stop worrying and ask her out. She'll say yes.
