He broke up with his g/f but still isnt ready for a committed relationship with me

When I started seeing this certain guy I knew he had a long distance girlfriend, we broke up a month ago because of it. Now he has broken up with his long distance girlfriend but says he is not yet ready for a commitment relationship with me. However, he is still sweet to me and e still do stuff that people in relationships do. What should I do? Should I demand a relationship, be happy with the casual thing or just let go of him?
