Even if I say something to him he will give a short answer, but he won't look at me. He's had plenty of opportunities to talk to me, but he won't. Even if I'm talking to his friend he will stay off to the side and won't join in on the conversation. One day he needed something off of the teachers desk which is right behind me. Instead of asking me to get it he asked the kid next to me who just ended up asking me for it. I understand he is shy, but even if I start the conversation he still won't talk to me. That's why I'm not so sure about him liking me plus I've never had a guy be afraid to talk to me before. If you really liked the girl wouldn't you want to talk to her? Especially if she starts the conversation?

Some guys, I say this from personal experience, are too shy to even talk to you in these situations. He most likely does like you, hes just too shy to talk. Hes probably a really nice person tho as most shy people are so Id just keep doing what youre doing and maybe let his friends know u like him so theyll tell him and itll give him more confidence next time you make yourself available to chat up.
P.S. When u tell his friends, write a letter so they have somethin to show him.
