A female reader, foul temptress United Kingdom +, writes (4 March 2009):

Personally i wouldnt shave down there. It can cause issues that im not comfortable with. I spoken to a lot of my male mates about this stuff jokingly and they say they cant cope with the stubble.

I believe waxing is far better. I'm quite hairy downstairs and i wax to tidy the regions but allow some growth so that at least i feel like a woman still. Plus it means you dont have to do it a regularly.

Helpful_In_Ohio agony auntI agree The shaved Vs. Not shaved Game is all about personal preference. I like trimmed And the way i see it is this If men like it nice trimmed and shaved ? Why cant they do that for the woman ? Do guys not think that hair in your mouth might be a problem for both you and her ? If I want my girls shaved or trimmed I should be willing to trim or shave for her .

I also agree that the feeling is a little bit different during intercourse but nothing to make it like WOW and have fireworks go off and make you wanna scream it from the roof tops.

The crabs comment I am a flight paramedic for Ohio and have been in the medical field for 11 yeas now. Crabbs are and can be given to guys or girls with very short hair or close to no hair so that's null and void.

Its Personal preference you do what you feel is comfortable for you. As for is it more "SANITARY" no Its is not regular baths are what is sanitary so if your clean normally it does not matter hair, shaved or bald.

Good luck with what ever decision you make.

A reader, anonymous, writes (4 March 2009):

I don't really understand the fad. Shaved is not particularly more attractive to me. And no, it is not more "sanitary". Anyone who bathes regularly is as clean whether they are shaved or not. If it had any "cleanlines" advantages, then men would be shaving as well. Why would a woman want to appear "pre-pubescent" unless the man she was with wanted her to. I am not into pre-pubescence. And I don't really think women do it for themselves. I think it is some conceived notion that most men like it better. Well, I don't know about that, as I am one who does not.

A male reader, Shipwreckd United States +, writes (4 March 2009):

Shipwreckd agony auntPubic hair is there for the same reason any other hair exists on our bodies - to keep that area warm.

I know that, as a guy, I prefer a trimmed/shaved woman. In fact a woman with the full rose garden growing down there is a complete turn-off.

I also shave. It enhances the sensation during sex and makes fellatio for both parties much more inviting.

If there were any sanitary reason...you won't get crabs as easy!

Downfalls are that is does itch when hair grows back (which can be mitigated with a moisturizer/lotion) and you need to keep up with it (much easier for women than men.)

If you get the "red bumps" the first few times don't worry. It happens and will go away with proper moisturization of the affected area.

Enjoy!
