Well to me it depends, i'm 18 and male.My gf and I have been dating for about 4months. a long time ago she sat on my legs and i got an erection but i wasnt too horny. A few weeks later she sat on my legs again and i got am erection but that time i was horny. It really depends on the enviroment his mood etc..  Depends on the guy, .. but sometimes them gtting a boner does not mean they want to neccessarily do anything with it.
Sometimes I am just talking to my man and he will start saying 'down boy'... coz his pants friend is listening, has a mind of his own, and wants to pop up and say g'day at inopportune times ..lol.
it just happens, ...sometimes unanted, .. sometimes even to the guys embarrasment, ... but ti is not something they actually have conscious control/ choice in a lot of the time.
So, siting on a lap seems pretty harmless, but dont freak out, make assumptions, or analyze it too much if something starts poking in to your leg. :-)
