I feel terrible. Everything's not right. Everything has gone downhill. My grades are suffering. I didnt get into the national team. My love life's awful, I'm single and I miss my ex sometimes. Everything doesnt seem right. Can anyone please give me some words of encouragement? I've been trying hard to stay strong but I'm probably not as strong as I thought I was. Help.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (30 March 2010):

Sure. I have been in your shoes a few times in my life. It always seemed that when things in my life were terrible and I almost hit rock bottom, that would be enough to provide me with the motivation I needed at the time to take a risk and make an important change in my life. What did I have to lose at that point??

When things are going well (or well enough) in one's life, people tend to get complacent. Complacency leads to a lack of motivation and laziness. When that happens it usually means you missed opportunities along the way.

Take this low point in your life and use it to effect a real change. Make a big life altering change right now. Pursue a different career, interest,or hobby. Do it now!!

What have you got to lose?
