writes: There is a very attractive single girl in my office, brunette, always wears high heels etc, who, when we see each other when alone, or when she is at her desk, she always says hi, or makes lots of eye contact and smiles etc. We havent really had any conversations though yet.When in a social situation, say after work, she is the complete opposite, showing completely ignoring me and no interest or friendliness at all.Is she just being a big flirt at work, and isnt really that interested? Im pretty sure she is most likely already taken, so that could have something to do with it as well.

reader, anonymous, writes (29 November 2011): This is verified as being by the original poster of the questionUpdate: We now get on very well at work and have lots of little chats when our paths cross, and have been to a couple of social gatherings where we have been able to talk and have a laugh etc. So a very pleasing result, now that we have gotten to know each other a little. We are now even Facebook friends amazingly... Im really glad we get on so well now (way better than it used to be) - and just felt like updating this question.

well as you have not had a conversation yet even in work i suppose she would feel silly approaching you when out of work as it seems like you would not have anything to say to each other. i would get to know her more, chat, small talk whatever in work a bit more, then she may be able to feel more comfortable around you when she sees you out of work
