Women have 2 ovaries - one on each side. Each month an egg is released from the left or right side. The fact that she has one ovary reduces her opportunities for conception but certainly does not rule them out if she doesn't have additional medical complications. I have a similar sort of problem myself and conception hasn't been possible the natural way! If you are trying for about a year and no pregnancy results then consult a GP - they can prescribe ovulation and fertility drugs and refer you to a specialist for further treatment. In the meantime, there is lots you two can do to help yourselves - cut down on the booze, no cigarettes and a balanced diet; she should also think about taking folic acid if you are both trying for a baby. If you think she could be pregnant, take a test and see the GP.
