reader, anonymous, writes (1 September 2009): I don't know Samantha...your boyfriend is in college now and he will be making lots of new friends and he will go to parties and hopefully he will get some studying in.
You can't cling onto him and hope that will keep him from leaving you. If he does, I know it will hurt, but if he does, you will be alright, you won't die or anything.
You are young, not saying that this relationship won't be your last, it would be really special if it was, but none of us have any guarantees in life and love. I wouldn't obsess about it if I were you. I would put your focus on you and what you want to do now with a little more of your free time. Surely there are some things or friends that you have been neglecting because your boyfriend has been around. Don't stop being who you are, get back to doing the things you enjoy and by taking care of yourself in this way you will be fine no matter what happens.
