Will I be able to find a girlfriend in a male dominating career?

A male United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Can you still find a partner/girlfriend even if you do engineering as a career?

I ask because I do Civil Engineering as a degree and I'm just curious since I don't have a girlfriend at the moment. Moreover since it is engineering, wherever I work, it will be probable that I will be in a male dominated organisation (or 80%+ male) since very few women are engineers

A male reader, Kenj United Kingdom +, writes (1 April 2010):

Kenj agony auntWell if its of any help, Im am electronics engineer and I found a girlfriend.

Why do you really need an engineer girlfriend?

Sure I can see there would be common interest, but shop talk 24/7 could get a little too stifling for any relationship.

There a lot of very intelligent women out there who can string sentences together – open your eyes man!

You could try on-line dating see where that leads you.

Best of luck!
