I have kept my virginity for so long because I was caught up with studying and also because of cultural beliefs. I am just worried if I ever decide to get married and have sex if it's going to be less painful than if I was younger. Reply to this Question Share |

Depends on the woman. The hymen is what causes pain during intercourse and depending on your body structure will determine if it will hurt or not. When you do decide to have sex, take it slow and I'm sure your partner will understand and appreciate you being a virgin and will accommadate you.

I am unsure of this
but I just wanted to say you shouldn't be embarassed. Its much rather prefered to be happy with your decicions and accomplisments, than to have regrets.

1. you being ready (foreplay will get you lubricated and relaxed for sex - also using a lube will help).
2. The size of your vagina (if you visit a doctor before having sex, he can determine if you need to stretch (using cones) before you have sex the first time).
3. The size of the man's (husband's) penis.
All these things come into play when you are having sex (everytime). No one can tell you if it will hurt or not, because no one but you will know the combination of these things.
Don't have sex until you are ready to (coming from someone who was a 36 year old virgin), and have it with someone you are in a strong loving relationship with, and it will be great, regardless if there is pain or not.
Good Luck!

Well, I'm no doctor, but you'd think that in some ways, being that your body is more mature than that of a young teenager of 16-17, in some ways it'll hurt less. However, like your fingers and toes, your hymen still exists, and unless you broke it some other way, you'll still have to deal with that pain.
You could have a doctor break it manually which would be less pain than tearing it during sex. That would not de-virgin you, as it's with a medical tool and not a man's penis.

I'm in a similar boat as you...
My delay is a consequence of vaginismus and thick hymen...
I don't know if this is part of your delay, but if it is...yes...it will be painful...
Either way, per my OB/GYN a females sexual desire increases with aging thus inducing physiological dilitation permitting for more tolerant vaginal intrusion???
So I hope this sheds a bit of light on your curiosity.
God Bless~

As long as the hymen is intact it will hurt.
