It could be related to your periods, especially as you said that you feel worse after them. Your body is probably still adjusting to the changes that are going on, and mood swings when you are young are normal.
You say that you feel depressed a lot, which isn't a nice feeling. Again, it is fairly normal to feel this way at your age, and your emotions can swing from one to the other very quickly.
I wonder how bad this feeling is for you though? If you are feeling very low, and you feel that it is affecting your life, then maybe it might help to talk to someone you trust about how you feel. Sometimes, even just sharing how you are feeling can bring relief and can be reassuring.
In time, I'm sure these feelings will settle down, but in the meantime, if you start to feel worse, then it might be helpful to talk to somebody, if you feel you can.

reader, anonymous, writes (9 April 2009): Talk to your doc about it. You may have PMDD. However you are pretty young and could be just adjusting to the hormonal changes in your body. Talk to your mom and ask her to make you a doc appt.
