A female Spain age 51-59, anonymous writes:

my boyfriend of 4 years has always wanted to keep in touch with an ex girlfriend and has done on and off by texting each other as she lives in another country. This to me as such isn't a problem but I always got the feeling that there is something there still between them and which has led him in the past to tell her not to contact him when he is at home with me. This led to a big argument, lack of trust, not really knowing what was going on, does she want him back maybe.

Anyway that was 1.5 yrs ago and he hasn't heard from her until recently again. He assured me that he told her we were very much together and that he was keeping her at arms length. I was pleased to hear this and told him I don't or never minded them being friends. But last nite while we were using his mobile taking pictures I looked at his messages and he had sent her 3 messages the nite before last and in the last one he told her that if I(that's me) don't rent my property out then I would move in (meaning I would move out of his). I confronted him about this and I said that I never said anything of the sort and he said I insinuated it which is untrue. He knows I'm trying very hard to let it out. He apologised as he was wrong to say what he said to her and blamed it on the drink. I feel there might be something more, between them perhaps. Why would he give her the impression that we are close to splitting up? Does he want to start something? Confused please help

hlskitten agony auntI would feel like you, that there is way more to them than meets the eye.

And maybe he is letting her know he could be available to see if he has a chance with her.

If they havent got children with an ex i can never see the need to stay in touch regularly. Once in a blue moon chuck a txt out n say hi hows things or say hi if you bump into them but anymore, alarm bells would ring with me ive gotta be honest.

Nasty situation you're in because he doesnt seem too forthcoming with his explanations about it all.

I would ask him a bit more about it. I would definately feel uneasy about the whole thing.

Good luck.

he wants to get back with her, or is atleast thinking of doing so,

what you should be thinking is what questions she is asking, for him to give those answers?

Yes they can be friends only if they were friends before if not? um noo - anyhow, friends in the sense of when they see each other they are nice to each other not friends where they are texting each other and he is texting that nonsense!!!

the fact that it upsets you and he is admitting what he has done is wrong should be enough for him to stop contacting?? is she that close to him that he cant live without her?
