writes:I have been dating a girl for the last four months, we have known each other 3 years. I am 39, she is 26. I have 5 kids , she has one but he is only with her during summer.She went really fast..pushed relationship for first four months...telling me she loved me , wanted to get married, have babies...I told her several times that needed to slow down but she would keep pushing...has her own place but stayed at mine for 2 months straight...spent a lot of time with my kids..A week before her son came for the summer she got really distant and when I asked her waht was up she said we need to slow down, shes not ready for sucha serious relationship, wants to spend more time at home...etc..I was understanding of it and when I said OK we'll date and see how it goes...she got mad said were not just dating were in a relationship...but to me its totally different then it was...I canot figure out what she wants...why so hot now so luke warm....  I'ts simple, Honeymoon is over, back to real life. The thrill of the chase has subsided. It could be a lot to ask for any one to take on someones child, let alone 5. She may be looking at her own child and want to put all her energies into him and not yours. Nature vs Nuture thing. Or I could be going down the wrong road. You need to have a heart to heart.
