I know this isn't a sex or daiting question..(well it kind of is i guess..) But why is slumdog millionaire a 'feel good film' when it's about three orphaned kids, an evil man who takes children's eyes out for more money, a brother who threatens his brother, and a girl who is constantly abused?? I know he finds latika in the end, but most of the film is deffinately not feel good..

Thankyou for the great answerws:)) You have all helped me (Except the first person:P) in knowing that I am not the only one out here that thinks that it is a don't feel good film--It is a nice film but not feel good.. Made me all malanchaly (not sure if that is the right way to use the word but i like that word..) and depressed D: And To the first person: It is not underrated, everyone gave it five stars--what else do you want?? Five not good enough for you ehh?? It is extremely overrated.. Everyone else agreed with me so you lose!! Lol xx

I look at slumdog as a rags to riches story, overcoming a rough upbringing, and yet managing to find love. How is that not happy and uplifting? The academy got it right...its us a society who are too lazy to analyze filmmaking so therefore we fail to see what is good and what is bad. That is why I will stand here and argue up and down thru a 13 to 14 page film explication of falling down that it is one of the most underrated american films, overlooked, and realistic....and that douglas should have hands down gotten an oscar for best actor. that is something, miss stoker, the academy got def wrong.

Gabrielle Stoker agony auntIt's not. It's not even a very good film. Just another year the committee got it wrong @ the Academy.

WhateverMovesThee agony auntThe ending I guess makes people believe it is, however, I agree, it's not exactly "feel good." After it was over, I still felt disturbed and sad. When I want a feel-good movie, I turn to good ole Beauty and the Beast by Disney :p
