She really doesn't make a very good partner for conversation.Anyhow, she is going out with me tonight, and I'm pretty sure she likes me, she complimented me on having nice hair the other day, and said she wanted to go drinking with me and all, so I figure she probably likes me, I hope anyways since I like her.But with other guys she's incredibly talkative, and very flirtacious, she doesn't seem to be anything more than just friends with them though, at least that's the impression I'm getting.I'm not like those other guys either, I don't mean to sound cruel or anything but they all come off to me and my friends as being feminine and somewhat immature. So I don't know if that would play a role in her treating me differently than other guys.Any idea why she would flirt with and actually talk to the guys she's not interested in, but be all shy and awkward around me?She's got a really different personality and I can't figure it out, like when we first met she was acting as if she didn't like me very much, and all of a sudden she literally threw herself onto me... What's up with that?She's definatley confusing me so any advice at all is really appreciated, thanks.-J

reader, anonymous, writes (14 January 2008): Well, the answer to this is: give her time. she just doesn't know you very well yet. don't push her, but do give her opportunities to spend time with you. She'll get more comfortable around you, and you'll get to see what she's really like.
I must say, though, that you said she isn't much of a conversationalist. You question what she does. Why do you like her so much? Is it her, or the idea of having a girlfriend, that makes you like her? Do think about this.
