He looked at me and said stop being silly everythings fine. the next day he said we need to talk and he told me he was a miserable person and needed to take time to fix himself but insisted we keep in touch. a week later i called to see how everything was going and no answer. Mutual friends then came out and said he was cheating on me, using drugs, and left me for the girl he cheated with. I called and left a voicemail saying i know what happened and i cant believe hed do that..i didnt get a response until 2 months later and it was a text that said "yes i cheated on u but it was only once and it made me appreciate you, but the reason were not together is because im unwell i hope when im better we can put this behind us" he told all our friends he wont tell anyone about her, hides her and just wont be honest about anything he also wont have a conversation with me, only through texts. i dont understand why the girl is okay with the fact that he hides her from me and everyone. i also cant understand why hes pretending hes mentally ill when i already know?

Sometimes people find it easier to lie than to tell the truth - he wont tell you the truth because then he will have to admit to himself that he is a liar and a cheat.
Honestly, send him a text ending your relationship with him, then stop texting him and move on with your life. Let this other girl have him and let her put up with all his nonsense. Even if he tries to contact you, avoid him, he will only hurt you time and time again!
You deserve better!
