I presume this means as friends (he already had a long distance gf), and we will only ever be friends. But, the guy in question hasn't told our friend. The only reason our friend knows is because I told him. He said hes going out with some mates for a birthday - so my question is: Why is he lying about going out with me? Does he think this is a date? I'm very confused, any suggestions out there?? Thank you!!

Go out with your friend and just treat him as a friend.
If he makes a move then slap him and go home.
If he treats you as a mate then just mention that you were speaking to your other friend and ask why he lied.
Good Luck!! xx
