Why is he acting 'cocky'?

Question - (2 October 2008) 1 Answers - (Newest, 2 October 2008)
A female United States age 36-40, *aw Peep writes:

Sometimes my boyfriend acts overly cocky towards me. It may be sudden, such as on the phone or in front of people. He has been doing this more lately. He doesn't always act like this, sometimes he acts really sweet but he has recently been acting "too cocky". I wonder what it could be. Does anyone know? I just have a weird feeling about it. And also the tone in his voice is a little "sharp" and it seems like he is trying to act like he is so busy when I know he is not. So what now??

And talking does not help because then once I let him know how I feel then he will know what else to do to be more in control.

Sounds like you are both trying to have the upperhand in the relationship. You shouldn't have to worry about telling him your concerns and that he might "know what else to do to be more in control". A relationship is a give and take and it MUST have two things...respect and communication. I would try and talk to him but break it down and say that you don't feel respected when he treats you this way.. if he does respect you he will make an effort to stop. Sorry you are going through this and I hope it gets better. xo
