reader, anonymous, writes (14 December 2008): Well honey, you need to sit down with your mother and have a chat about your age, and what you're 'allowed to do'. You're nearly 20, and thus you're an adult. You need to explain to your mother that although you respect her views, you are old enough now to make your own decisions. Sometimes mums don't want to see their little girls growing up, and find it very difficult to stop thinking of their children as children.
Don't get annoyed with her, just sit and have a chat - let her tell you her worries etc.
