Why does my manager always picks on me? does she just not like me?

Am new at my work. Am a temp. But I've been there for 8weeks now.

I like my work. I love what I do. But my manager is always picking on me. She gives me the hard task and watch me like a hawk.. She makes me do 3things at a time and tells me to do it faster,

I work really hard, everyone on my department says I work hard. But she's making me life hell. She doesn't tell the other girls there to hurry up. I do all the work there whiles the other girls just chat and flirts.

I can't even talk to no one at work cos she's always watching me.

I thought it cos I was new but I've been there 8weeks and she still picking on me. Does she just not like me? I've had enough.

Thanks..x

chickpea2011 agony auntHi,

I've been in a similar situation before. I also, work really hard in whatever I do, its just my character, so I understand you.

I guess, your manager doesn't like you for some reason. Sometimes, people do tend to not like somebody else for no reason at all. Happened to me before..

Its hard to find jobs nowdays, so if you decide to quit, make sure you have a new job secure. But, seems to me, every new job I get, there's always that "one" person that gets on your nervos and give you a hard time.. So, leaving this job won't guarantee you that your new job will be better.

If this is getting very extreme, affecting your life, your mood, health, then find a new job, its ok, but have a back up plan!

Remember, this is not about you. You haven't done anything wrong. I am sure you are a hard worker, and a lovely young lady. Its just weird that sometimes you'll meet people that just don't like you, I completely understand you. Been there many times..

Good luck, hope things get better at work!
