I was with a guy who did the exaact same thing.Personaly i think its because maybe hes a little clueless or nervous..Or hes trying to pickup from those crazy passionate scenes which look great in the movies. Rather than concentrating on what looks good in his head,he should concentrate on feels better.. Maybe you could suggest trying something new like tantric sex . there are a number of websites on it. its great because it GRADUALY builds up the excitement . the 1st stage involes just sitting facing each other,with eye-contact and no touching...Or if this whole spiritual connection thingy is too wacko for you keep it simple . just provide a demo of how you DO like bein kissd... say it 'it drives me crazy when you kiss me this way...'

 You should feel flattered! And it IS sweet that he's so passionate so please don't take it for granted (and i'm sure that you're not :D ) but i do know it can be a hassle.
For me i don't like kisses that last FOREVER because i find it so much more comfortable being able to breathe properly through my mouth than struggling to breathe normally through my nose or just holding my breath while kissing.
Don't be silly and get upset about it tho! :) He likes your kisses. Tell him you LOVE his kisses, but sometimes it gets a bit uncomfortable and you don't want to stop kissing! You just want to kiss with pecks and little caresses rather than full on snogs.
I'm sure he thinks you love it this way just as much as he does, or he wouldn't be kissing in this way all the time.
But you may find you miss his long long kisses if you tell them you don't want them anymore! so don't do that. Variety! :) Just tell him you'd like to kiss in a variety of ways. He'll be fine with it as long as you let him kiss you for long long times every now and then and tell him how good he is at it.
