writes:I'm a 14 year old girl and i really really like this guy in my class. my best friend used to be his girlfriend but then they broke up and then she dated another guy and he is still in love with her. i told him i liked/loved him and he said that hes not rejecting me its just that he just got out of a messed up relationship. she always says bad things about him and he still loves her. although he loves her, he always flirts with me and always complements me. what does it mean when he said that hes not rejecting me? and does he like me?

 to be honest i think he is flirting with you to maybe make your friend jealous to see if he could get her back, but i think you should probaly just give it time and maybe when he gets over her give it another shot, maybe for now be a good friend to him and he might see how great you really are!!! good luck

 I think he does like you but he needs some time to sort his head out. Boys are more complicated than you would think and also have all the strange neurotic thoughts that girls have.
Let him get over his ex, and in time I'm sure it will all work out.
