I broke up with my ex some time ago but am still serving on a volunteer board where I have to deal stil with his little verbal jabs when I say something or he will often caught me off and say we are getting off the agenda. I am ignoring it but I also feel a physical tension, almost pain when I am around him. When I have to be around him for this volunteer work I do my own thing and he does his although he makes a big point of being ever such a gentleman in front of my friends and people who do not know him. Why does he belittle me in front of others, make verbal jabs and what is that tension all about. Will it go away...I keep waiting.

It sounds to me like he misses you. I think he is jealous that you are doing fine without him. You should never take anybodies shit. When people treat you like that you need to show them that you aren't going to take it. In your case, being forced to be around him, it will not go away until her is out of your life for good. Guys don't change, they just get worse. Good Luck!
