A female United States age 26-29, anonymous writes:

Why do my boyfriend and I get so nervous around each other? I've never been so nervous around anyone in my entire life! We both txted each other saying we have a problem and this no talking thing needs to sort out. We both agreed we would both blow off our friend to hang out with each other at lunch and recess. (I go to a charter school*k-8th* so we still get recess) well that never happend I tried but I got way to many butterflies in my stomach. That night we txted each other again saying that I would sit by him at lunch and he would come by me to hang out with me at recess. Next day came. Nothing happened. It was mostly my fault because I took my friend's basketball so he sat by me but I ran to my boyfriends table to hide because my cousin(who's my friends friends) threw milk at me lol. But then my bf's friend was like "Hiiiiiiii" and kept waving and my boyfriend laughed. But then the lunch lady person was like "get back to where you were sitting!" So I had to goback but then that recess everone figured out we were going out (at my school we keep those things quiet because it will get everywhere! And I mean even to the principal and its bad when it gets to her) well everyone kept bugging me and him I went to go by him but this weird girl grabbed my jacket and brought me to the kickball place saying "why are you going out with him?" So we couldn't hang out at recess. We txted again and said he would hug me in the morning, lunch, and after school. He was going to but then he started shaking and ran off. We finally talked to each other but we keep stuttering and to make it worse my stupid friend was spinning on the floor saying "naaaaaah" so I smacked him and my boyfriend had his head down. Then finally he txted me saying he had enough of us getting nervous and never talking. We finally talked but he kept looking down and when I get nervous I bite my lip and I bit my lip so hard I cut it. Then we hhugged and didn't let go. When we did let go me and him we blushing like crazy and he was holding his stomach and I ran off. He txted me saying "sorry I was super nervous after we let go that I felt sick" (that feeling when u go on a giant roller coaster and right when it starts going you feel like your going to puke)

Why do we get so nervous around each other? I don't get it and when can we hang out at chool? To many people make fun of us and won't leave us alone. Please help. Thank you and no I'm not breaking up with him I like him a lot.

Vaeys agony auntYou get nervous because you both like each other. Alot. It's young, teenage love. Whenever I meet someone new, I stare at my feet and mumble words so quietly I can barely hear them. You guys just need to learn to chill out with one another and just be casual. Act like he's a mate and try to not focus on the fact that you like him. :)
