A female United States age 26-29, *jean14 writes:

Just right off the bat im pretty sure im not paranoid. okay so im in the 9th grade, about 5'0'' or 5'1'', african american, long and pretty african american hair, dont wear a lot of makeup (dont really need it), a little chubby/fat, etc. ( just giving details on how i look).

So whenever i have phys ed theres about 3 people who constantly stare at me, they watch how i walk, who i talk to, and what im doing (btw 1 guy and 2 girls in phys ed) i had one of my friends to ask the boy if he liked me but he would say no and have a smile.also theres teachers who stare at me too like one day i wore a cardigon at school and my liv environment teacher was staring at me a lot that day then the next day she wears one too and 4 other kids (i know that prob they just wanna wear one but really the day after i wear it they do to). and one day i was in math class and i went up to the teacher to show her my work and this girl was staring at me the whole time i was there wth and last year in the 8th grade i didnt have glasses and this year i do.

I just want to know why a lot of people stare at me so much. is it cause im pretty, ugly, or there just looking. thanks

A male reader, anonymous, writes (24 April 2011):

I've seen this situation before. I knew of two girls who did this same thing to another african american girl. Their comments and reasoning for doing so is exactly described by the most popular sir mixalot song. In fact, the girl chewing bubble gum at the start of the song states it. Oh, and the boy doesn't like you. This situation is more like what happens when a tall american appears in Japan. Everyone stares.
