writes: I was with this amazing guy for a while and then he decided b/c he couldn't see me all that we couldn't be together. We were so happy until then. He lived about an hr. away and I had even planned to see him when he broke up with me. Why do long distance relationships not work?

your still yuong and an hour is a distance for you...
when your older it would be easier, when your older long disdances can work but it takes a lot and many people feel they dont work as well as close relationships do
these are easier because you can see eachother and do things together and theres not so much strain on time to talk
sorry that it didnt work out for you but if you move on you might beable to find someone better suited to you

They can do but they involve a lot of independence, a hell of a lot of trust, and lots of pain and upset.
It's his choice whether he wants to go through that because it's not nice most of the time.
I'm sorry he didn't think the relationship was worth it but many guys would not see an hour as a big thing and it'll be far easier when you get older and can drive.
Move on as he obviously wasn't worth it.
