Why do I want something to work out in the future?

Question - (11 March 2009) 1 Answers - (Newest, 15 March 2009)
A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I have a friend who I have liked for a few years. One time we kissed but then he said since we don't live very close it wouldn't be a good idea to start anything.

We talk a lot, but often just casually online and I get annoyed with him easily and feel like I'd hate being in a relationship with him... Why do you think I still want something to work out in the future?
