I met the most handsome man at the dance and he was attracted to me. We dated for two years. He was nice at first but he lied and borrowed money from me. He socialized with other women and did not include me. I do not know why I am having such a hard time getting over him. I have met other men but so far other men have been up front that they only want a one-night stand. After having a boyfriend for a long time I do not want a one-night stand. Now I am alone and missing my ex boyfriend even the abuse. Why?

My friends and I have a saying...
'The best way to get over a man is to get under another'
I'm not saying you should have a one night stand (never been a fan of those myself)but it is normal to focus on the last 'love' you have had until you find another man to focus on...then believe me, you wont spare that abusive man a second thought.
The right man will come along when you least expect it...in the meantime you should keep reminding you how awful that man made you feel and although he could probably be charming he would never make you happy
good luck for the future
