I've had quite abit of time off with migraines (which are related to stress), tonsilitus and my mum being in hospital. Everything was good when I first started there and after the first month things changed. I find it really hard to keep motivated and would just rather be by myself at home. It's not that I'm lazy, obviously I have the odd day like everyone, but in my GCSE's I really worked hard and got A's and B's. When I'm off I always try to keep up with my coursework and my teacher said that the standard of my work is at a grade A and I've done really well considering that my mum was in hospital. But recently the thought of going back to college makes me panick and I get really nervous. It's not just college, but I walk up there by myself and the thought of doing that makes me feel sick and my chest feels proper tight and I start shaking. I hate walking past traffic because I feel like everyone is watching me and that makes me panick even more. I really do want to make something of myself and I know if I work hard that I can do it. But I dont understand why I feel like this and what I can do to stop it. Would be grateful for advice or opinions x

You maybe suffering from chronic anxiety and clinical depression. These are very common conditions associated with the symptoms you describe. You have a difficult family situation to juggle with your studies. You need to see a GP to ask for help. You also need to ask the college for assistance. There should be a school counsellor or someone assigned to pastoral care of students. This person could help put special measures in place to help with your education, especially if you are diagnosed with a medical condition by the GP. There are lots of effective treatments available for anxiety and depression - it is just a question of going to the GP and requesting the help you need.

It sounds like you are suffering from anxiety, which is often associated with stress any way and after all you've been through in a short time what with the stress of GCSE's, your mum in hospital and also the stress of college then its understandable.
It is best to go to your GP as they can offer you professional advice and perhaps medication to help with the symptoms and allow you to go back to being the true you!
Could you meet a friend to walk into college with for a bit of moral support? That may distract you from feeling panic and nervous if you have a friend to walk and talk with.
Best of luck hun and I hope you do well in college x

You sound as if you may be depressed and having panic attacks. I would go to the doctor and tell him/her about these issues. He may be able to help you get back on your feet, you may need some mild medication. But I think you need to talk to a health professional, maybe your college has a student support person as well you could talk to. Don't try and deal with this alone.
