writes: A guy I worked with all summer was different around me. He was more outgoing. He was very quiet around others. He would always ask if I wanted a drink. He began dating a different girl, late in the summer so I backed off. They broke up about a month later.A few weeks ago I called him (house phone doesn't have a cell anymore)and his family told him I called. He called back sounding very excited it was me and I asked him if he was interested in a work party. Our job was seasonal so we don't see any of our co-workers anymore. He sounded really excited. When I confermed I was having it I contacted everyone and tryed to call him. His family kept answering. I tryed to leave messages but he never called back. He doesn't have a facebook either. I even mailed him the invite but he didn't come. Why would he act different around me and act excited and not do anything about it?

reader, anonymous, writes (25 December 2008): It is unusual behaviour. Maybe his parents don't want him to see you for various reasons. These reasons could be unfounded, religous, or just that they think it would not be good for their son at this stage of his development.
Maybe he has found someone new
It may be nothing to do with you.
Don't loose sleep over it. He has your number and can contact you if he desires to.
Get on with your life and just put it down to one of those unsolved mysteries.
