A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

okay so this is rather insignificant, but still i cant understand girls, and im confused once again :)

3 days ago, this girl i used to talk to a lot contacts me. I havent spoken to her since right before we nearly started dating 2 years ago, when she decided to just stop talking to me (even if i was in the same room with her asking her why she wouldnt even acknowledge me, she would remain silent and look the other way). she was a freshman then, and i a sophomore.

She recently got an extremely bad concussion and hasnt been in school yet this year (now shes a junior, im a senior). My freshman year, i had one as well, and i was homeschooled for about 2/3 of the year.

So anyways, she contacts me, after messaging back and forth for a bit, she asks if we can just start over, like nothing ever happened. We go on, she starts saying how no one understands what shes going through, and that what she went through really changed her without me even really asking for her to tell me that. and we go on texting all that night until my phone dies, like nothing ever did happen and it was back to sophomore year again.

Now, ironically, the week before she contacted me, i asked her best friends (one of which is a close friend of mine) to help me throw a bonfire for her, since i know how lousy it is to be stuck not able to do anything, and never see your friends when you have that major of a concussion. Her one friend asked me if there was any other reason I was doing it, and I (maybe foolishly) said well I do still think shes kinda cute and if I got to know her better maybe id like to pick back up.

I'm extremely happy she contacted me. We havent talked a ton, only 2 days but it was for hours at a time, and she really opened up to me and its really easy and natural to talk to her.

It just bothers me that on top of not knowing why she stopped talking to me, now i dont know why she started talking to me again either! She didnt know about the bonfire (i ended up telling her, just to make sure she would be allowed to go), I highly doubt that her friend told her I possibly like her, but then again I highly doubt that it was simply because now we’ve both had life threatening concussions? Im really easy to talk to, maybe its just im not used to talking to other people that are easy to talk to too? Idk ha. So if anyone has any ideas or maybe know how to mind read it would be much appreaciated.

I'm a girl, so I can explain this best! Girls are confused. We are all confused. 2 years ago, she probably was too young to want a relationship and or how to handle one. Since she got her concussion, she has probably been thinking about her life alot. How she is grateful to be alive, what she loves and what she wants to change. You came up in her head and she just wants to fix it. She realized what she wants now! (This is based on all females I know and how they think! I dont know her, so I may be wrong.) It could have been bad timing 2 years ago. Now could be the time! Think about it! :] Good luck with everything!
