Why did a man I know take my hand to examine my rings?

He just grabbed a hold of my last three fingers and slowly twisted my rings back and forth while examining them. Do you think this behavior is strange? Does it seem flirtatious?

Additional details: These were my wedding rings! And this man is my married doctor. I didn't know how to read his behavior. I'm wondering if he was just looking at my rings or if he was trying to flirt or hit on me.

A reader, anonymous, writes (9 July 2019):

I think it was a bit forward. Probably just checking them out because he was admiring them; or trying to determine if the stones were real. It was inappropriate, all the same.

You don't checkout a person's jewelry without asking. I just hope he's honest and not a thief or criminal.

Personally, I would have yanked my hand back. There was no sensible or justifiable reason to do what he did.

Even further additional information from you please....

Question 1 - what were the circumstances of this incident? You say he is your doctor, so was this during a medical consultation? Or was it somewhere else - a party? church? grocery shopping?

Question 2 - what had you two been talking about before he took hold of your hand? Your health? Your children? The weather? Or something else? Or did he literally walk up to you and grab your hand with no conversation at all?

Question 3 - What else was he doing as he was holding your hand? Gazing into your eyes or out of the window? Brushing a lock of hair away from your face or writing in his notes?

Question 4 - Since he is your doctor, what was the last complaint you went to see him about?

I'll post more when you reply

Regards

Ruby

Honeypie agony auntWho knows?

Maybe he liked your wedding set?

You are both married (obviously) so why should this matter?

And you are an ADULT woman so if you found this uncomfortable you can pull you hand back.

What are you "hoping" is the reason?
