A female United States age 36-40, *rizona21 writes:

Me and my boyfriend of almost 3 years had many problems lately, mainly because of my anger issue,we went 2 days without speaking then he finally decided that we needed to talk, he then told me that it was over for us,that he just couldn't do it anymore, i told him that i was going to take anger management classes and he said that it was good, but it was too late, he insisted that we broke up and that he didn't want to get my hopes up and say that someday we will get back together.

After a while, talking about our relationship, he said that this will help us be better, and he promised me that we will get back together again, he just needs time to himself, to do things he wants and to be with his family. He doesn't want to call this a break, he wants to call it a break up, he said he was going to change his status on myspace to single and that he was going to bring all of our pictures down from his room and his phone BUT he promised me that he isn't going see or date anybody because he still wants to work this out, he said we can still hang out and talk because he can't erase me from his life, he even started crying so my question is why can't we call this a break instead of breaking up?

he is letting you of slowly, once all the pictures/my space is cleared, then the physical connection is going to disappear, thus leaving you and him broken up. Its a break up. Time to move on. Sorry for your loss
