I am often surprised when my mother tells me interesting things that he has told her. A few years ago I was unemployed and I told him I would have a job soon. He said I wouldnt and I asked him why, he said 'because little children dont work'. The other evening I was trying to discuss something with him about some problems I had which made me very unhappy and he just said 'and I thought you were such a happy child'. He also seems to hate it if I wear tight or revealing clothes and says things like 'you dont have to show everything you know'. If I try to argue with him he will completely ignore me, just refusing to answer and will become a bit cold towards me for a few weeks. Why cant this man just treat me like the woman that I am? He is part of my family after all.

To me he sounds quite immature, not you. Next time he calls you a child ignore him completely, no point trying to talk to this man if he is going to treat you like this and make you feel small. Ignore him. He aint worth it, dont let him show you that it is getting to you just smile and say i havent been a child in a long time but hey if you think i still look like im young il take that as a compliment thank you very much
