writes:I have a boyfriend and he's in 7th grade. I'm in 8th. All the guys talk to him and say stupid things like blink twice if she's forcing you. (They are immature) And they get me and push me into him and say "why are you raping him!!!" Then they make fun of us because he's younger than me. But this year and last year some of the girls went out with 6th and 5th graders and none of the guys bothered them. Why are they making fun of me and not the people who are going out with 6th graders?

reader, anonymous, writes (28 February 2011): hii...you said (They are immature). whether you realize it or not, you pretty much answered your own question. middle school...especially seventh grade and eighth grade...seems like the height of immaturity. odds are, you're starting to go through puberty, and with puberty comes the realization that you are no longer a little kid. for some people (especially guys) this seems to be a really good reason to start acting like immature idiots. buuut, i can assure you that it DOES get better with time. back when i was your age, things were pretty much the same way. now, though, i have a friend who is dating a guy that's a year younger than her, and nobody even bats an eye about it...because we're finally mature enough to see that it doesn't matter. soo, just hang in there.  They are making fun of you because they are immature, stupid and possibly jealous. Guys would love to date an 'older woman' so just ignore their stupid games. next time they physically push you, thats a form of physical bullying. These people are targeting you and they need to be dealt with.
So what if you are dating someone younger than you, you can do whatever you want without being vicitmised. Talk to a teacher you trust and explain the situation. Most schools will have a policy when it comes to bullying, and the bullies will be dealt with. Don't lose faith. Stand up for yourself, these people clearly have alot of growing up to do!
