You're never going to get a clear, factual answer on this because there are plenty of cheaters who don't care to admit it. Both sides will argue it's 50/50, pointing our fingers at the opposite sex.
Maybe this will help:

hi
not sure, but i think that in our society *typically* men cheat to get sex and women cheat to get attention/affection. but as no census or poll has ever been carried out to measure infidelity levels, then i guess no one knows the answer to your question.
i think it might be worth mentioning though that in some cultures, the women are not allowed out without their man, they also not permitted to have a man in their home unless their husband is also present (by this i mean tradesmen who come to carry out repairs etc) but the same rules do not apply to the husband, he still has total freedom, so, having said that, if you are talking generally worldwide i would have to conclude that more men cheat (the women don't even get the opportunity)
just doing a quick sum in my head of people that i personally know have cheated; the score is even between men and women.

Hmm I get the impression from your follow-up that maybe you think men cheat more? I think it's pretty much equal to be honest.. both men AND women cheat as much as each other.
My ex-boyfriend didn't think a woman could cheat because she's more in touch with her emotional side or something, and would be able to understand what it feels like to be cheated on. Weird guy :/ Not all men are ruthless and not all women are faithful. Both sexes are just as capable of cheating as each other and I'm sure if we were able to conduct a study the figures of men who had cheated would be roughly the same as women.

But, then again, I've never dated any of them either...
I think that it really doesn't matter what statistics say, what matters is what individuals do.
I think it was Mozart who said in a comic opera "women all do it, but a far more common belief is that men all do it".
No, not everyone cheats. At least I know that for sure about one person.

Well, I've never dated a girl that was faithful to me, so you can guess what my hunch is. Really it's probably pretty even. Men and women are more alike than either would care to admit.

I get that one man and one woman, but in my case, and all of my friends cases. The man lied to us, and was cheating on us (women)? So I wanted to see if more men or more women go outside their relationship more frequently than the other.

No one will ever know as not everyone wants to hold their hands up and admit to it.
